ZitatAt the heart of this is the MB.OS end-to-end software journey. Previously, every single control unit and the associated software and configuration details had to be documented individually, costing a significant amount of time and effort. With MB.OS, these elements can be documented as a package, allowing for fast, highly automated processing. A software package is created in the MB.OS portal and can consist of individual ECU software, multiple interdependent ECUs or even contain the software information needed for an entire vehicle package. ECU packages and other applications with dependencies to one another come together to create a car package at the end. Following a strict validation process, we have a package release, which can be assigned to the corresponding hardware ready for flashing and distribution to the vehicle fleet.
Using OTA and a regular and fixed MB.OS release cycle, software packages can be deployed to vehicles on a regular basis. As a result, our production lines can assemble the vehicles using pre-flashed ECUs. Additionally, every vehicle receives a customised software package tailor-made to match the customer’s vehicle configuration. This allows us to deliver vehicles running the latest and greatest software versions.
